Days of Thunder was released to theaters on June 27, 1990 and starred Tom Cruise as Cole Trickle, a young hot shot race car driver who is recruited to race in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series. After a really bad wreck, Cole overcomes his fears at the end of the movie in an epic Daytona 500 race.
