Rod Stewart’s ‘Downtown Train’ was the first number one song of the ’90s on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts. He released the song in late 1989, and it also peaked at #3 on the Hot 100 charts, and his number one on the AC charts too. The song featured guitar legend Jeff Beck on slide guitar.
