Nirvana’s ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ is one of the most successful songs in history. It was a top ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100, Mainstream Rock and Alternative Rock charts, hitting number one on the Alt Rock charts in 1991.
It also hit number one in Belgium, France and New Zealand, and this song and video almost single-highhandedly destroyed the ’80s hair band craze that had ruled MTV for years.
