
The late Chris Cornell from Soundgarden talks about the difference between hair metal and grunge bands. One of the biggest differences was the backstage experience says Cornell, “You know, maybe there would be a bottle of whiskey on the table or something, but that was it. There were no drugs. There were no prostitutes, or groupies or anything like that. And we would be having kind of round-table discussions and arguments about philosophy and things that interested us.”
It was definitely a different scene than the mayhem going on backstage after a Motley Crue or Poison concert, that’s for sure. Check out the full interview below.
