In 1997, Marcy Playground released their self-titled debut album, and it spawned two top ten Alternative Rock hits. The second single from the album, Saint Joe on the School Bus peaked at number eight on the Alt Rock charts, but it was the third single, Sex and Candy that they’re remembered for. Sex and Candy hit number one on the Alt Rock charts as well as number eight on the Hot 100 charts, and number four on the Mainstream Rock charts in 1997.
Their last song to chart was It’s Saturday from their 1999 album Shapeshifter when it peaked at number 25 on the Alt Rock charts.
