Titanic was released on December 19, 1997, and it became the first movie to reach the billion-dollar mark. It grossed over $2.2 billion dollars at the box office. It was nominated for 14 Academy Awards, and won 11 of them, including the awards for Best Picture and Best Director. It was the highest-grossing film of all time until 2010 when Avatar surpassed it. Both Titanic and Avatar were written, directed, and produced by James Cameron, so he holds the distinction of being the only writer/director/producer with the two highest-grossing films of all time.
Titanic starred Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet as two members of different social classes who fall in love aboard the Titanic during its ill-fated maiden voyage.
The movie also featured several famous actors including Billy Zane, Kathy Bates, Frances Fisher, and Bill Paxton to name a few. Enjoy this look at the cast of Titanic then and now from EpicMashups on YouTube!
