In 1994, Stone Temple Pilots’ song Interstate Love Song spent 15 weeks at number one on the rock charts. It hit number one on September 17th and stayed there until Tom Petty’s You Don’t Know How It Feels took over number one on December 31st. It was part of 11 top five hits in a row on the Mainstream Rock chart for STP. The streak started with 1993’s Plush, which hit number one, and continued all the way through 2000’s Sour Girl, which peaked at number four on Mainstream Rock chart.
