At the end of the decade, Santana teamed up with Matchbox lead singer Rob Thomas for Smooth. The song was a massive hit spending 12 weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It hit number one on October 17, 1999 and stayed there through January 8, 2000!
