On August 31, 1993, Robin Williams made his first appearance in the Ed Sullivan Theater, the new home of the Late Show with David Letterman. In typical Robin Williams fashion, he was crazy funny from the moment he arrived via an elevator outside the window behind Dave’s desk. He then proceeded to walk all over the theater before sitting down and talking to Dave about all sorts of things including a new movie he just made where he dressed up like an older woman. We know now that movie was Mrs. Doubtfire, which turned out to be one of the biggest movies of the ’90s!
Enjoy this look back at the one and only Robin Williams on the Late Show with David Letterman in 1993!
