Jurassic Park was released to theaters in June, 1993, and grossed over $912 million worldwide in its original theatrical release, making it the highest-grossing film of all time (until the release of Titanic in 1997). The film won numerous awards including three Academy Awards for its technical achievements in visual effects and sound design. The film spawned four very successful sequels: The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), Jurassic Park III (2001), Jurassic World (2015), and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018), and a fifth sequel, Jurassic World Dominion, scheduled for a 2022 release.
